Hi
I'm Unma.
I'm a UX Researcher & Designer with a Masters in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (UBC). I focus on creating human-centered experiences through a combination of proven design principles and mixed-methods evaluations.
I currently work with Dr. Stephanie Glegg in the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at UBC as a User Researcher, and as a freelance contractor for UX projects. My interests lie primarily at the intersection of HCI and healthcare, supported by data visualizations.
I've previously been a UI/UX Designer , Graphic Designer , Software Engineer , and Web Developer - basically anything that involves coding and design - and love carrying over skills from one discipline to another. I enjoy working with cross-functional teams and strongly believe interdisciplinary collaborations and stakeholder participation are the key to good, inclusive, and accessible design!
In my free time, I wander around with my camera, or sketch on my iPad!
I'm currently looking for full-time UX research and design opportunities . If you find my work interesting and would like to know more, I'd be happy to grab a (virtual?) cup of coffee sometime!
