Hi
I'm Unma.
I'm a UX Researcher currently pursuing my Masters degree in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
I work with Dr. Karon MacLean in the SPIN (Sensory Perception and Interaction) lab at UBC, co-supervised by Dr. Tim Oberlander from the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute. My research interests lie primarily at the intersection of HCI and healthcare, often supported by interactive visualizations.
I've previously been a UX Designer, Graphic Designer, Software Engineer, and a Web Developer - basically anything that involves coding and design - and love carrying over skills from one discipline to another. It's precisely these diverse experiences that enable me to be a more empathetic UX researcher!
In my free time, I wander around with my camera, or sketch stuff on my iPad.
Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to know more!
